We had to get the picture from the road instead of the trail, and from the other side of the valley besides, but here is the pasture land with the 'head cows' and the bridge of 'over the river and through the woods' fame. It sure makes for a pretty drive home.

I started blogging when I moved from California to Kentucky – bit of a culture shock there, I’m afraid – and was having a mid-life crisis of sorts. What to do? Build a life of family, home and volunteering? Try to re-enter the job market? I thought that writing about things, something I’ve always liked to do, would help me sort it all out; help me out of my life as a recluse. “Cathy without a plan” was born. But I got sidetracked. I couldn’t resist commenting on the news, on books I’ve read, people I’ve observed, life’s absurdities, and all manner of other things. I really haven’t been doing much ‘planning’ at all. Oh well. And in the meantime, I moved again – back to the west coast – and now have a whole new set of adventures that are surely interfering with serious planning. So I'm unsettled, indecisive and wishy-washy about what I should do ‘next'... which seems to suit me after all. I used to be one of life’s great planners. But now here I am, happily, "Cathy without a plan."
